GOOD EATS: homemade pesto

I know it’s fall but I had to squeeze in this pesto recipe. I had a big basil plant on my patio and I thought it was just a shame to let it go as the weather is getting more chilly. So I gathered up my basil and set to making some homemade pesto. I stuck to the basics, nothing fancy.

Roast the pine nuts. Then mix nuts, basil, grated cheese & garlic in food processor. Slowly add the oil while the processor is running. Add the juice of half a lemon to help keep your pesto green. Done and done!
Now that you have some fresh pesto or if this made you want to go buy some pesto, here’s 5 great pesto appetizers that you can make any time of year.
