This is the first you’ve heard from me about going to Alt Summit next week! I know, kinda crazy but I was lucky enough to win a ticket and had such a great time when I was there in January so I thought let’s do it! It’s the first summer edition of Alt so although I’m sure I can expect the same standards of creativity and inspiration I’m sure there will be a few fun summery additions. One thing Alt is known for is it’s over the top awesome parties. They are an event planners dream – being able to plan such fun themed events for a big group of creative people. Being on the receiving end of that as a party goer is pretty fun too.
You know how you see all those beautifully planned parties all over Pinterest and think that you’ve never been invited to one of those? Well that’s what some of the events at Alt are like. Lots of styling, lots of creativity, lots of fun. For the summer edition there’s two main parties – a food truck dinner party and a girly garden party. You definitely don’t want to have a Bridget Jones moment at Alt and show up in the wrong party frock so here’s some inspiration of what to wear to these events.
The food truck party is uncharacteristically casual for Alt but don’t be fooled, people will look good. You know, that effortless casual style that is actually the opposite of effortless? Denim is great but show off your style with some funky pattern and colour. And when it comes to shoes, sorry ladies, my advice is no matter what make sure they’re comfortable. It will ruin your night if you’re in pain.
The second party is a super girly garden party. The first thing that popped into my head was garden picnic gingham. I love this gingham cocktail dress and just dress it up a bit with a blingy statement necklace then some matching/contrasting accessories and of course comfortable but adorable wedges. Girly but stylish.
