So how are those new year resolutions coming along? That bad huh? I think we’re way too tough on ourselves so instead let’s focus on our house and get all judgemental and give it a makeover instead. Sounds great right?! Your house doesn’t have feelings so it’s ok to admit that it could use a little refresh.
My loft is pretty good except one area that I still haven’t waved my magic home decor wand over is the bathroom. Why is it that the smallest spaces can be the toughest? My guess is that no one is dying to decorate around a toilet. There’s only so much you can do with that thing (#putabirdonit) Plus even though it’s a small room, it sure can eat up a budget fast if you go full throttle makeover with new Anzzi fixtures etc. So let’s hold off on the full throttle. Despite the toilet, you can give your bathroom a major makeover without ripping anything up with some fresh paint and fresh new accessories. Check out this bathroom refresh look I put together with one-stop-shopping at Wayfair.
It is also worth noting that if you are putting a lot of effort into decorating your bathroom like maybe you’re thinking of getting a double sink vanity because you can (you can check out these double sink vanity ideas here if you would like), either way maintaining it is very important. That means calling a plumber if there are any problems, such a leaky tap, a burst pipe, a blocked drain. If you live in Australia and need a plumber, you could consider this plumber canberra. There is no point in making it look pretty if it is flooded! One way of fixing broken pipes, other than the traditional – and frankly outdated – techniques, is to investigate the advantages of CIPP linings as the installation cost is low and pipe compatibility is good also.
Ok, so truth – I’m truly a big fan of Wayfair and they’ve helped me with many other projects. They kindly gave me a $100 gift card to put towards a refresh for a room of my choice and share my ideas with you.
I was on such a role that I just had to add the tiles to complete this look but they’re definitely a bonus. If you like something or everything from this look, you can find it all over on my Wayfair idea board.
You know me, I love color so I had to throw in a few pops of pastel but the dominant color palette is the black & white with navy walls (Bosporus Blue by Sherwin Williams) and a few gold accents. It makes for a modern and fresh look with a dramatic twist thanks to the dark walls. What I love about dark walls is that all the light pastels and white really pop against it and it makes the (faux) gold accents look like a million bucks.
This look is also great for renters because, assuming your landlord is cool with painting, you aren’t making any permanent (or pricy) changes. The tiles are definitely a bonus to consider if you own your place. Who knew that Wayfair also has tiles?! That was a new discovery for me.
So put down that low-fat-high-protein-palio-superfood shake and take a look around your house instead and see what room could use a refresh then head over to Wayfair and explore. Put together your own idea board, even if it’s just for fun. A girl can dream.
