Ok, so this may or may not be crazy. I’ll find out soon enough. This is an idea I had wayyyy back when I started my blog 3 years ago. With it being as simple as finding ads for house swap opportunities by doing a quick google search into Allentown classifieds, for example, I thought it would be fun to swap houses with another blogger or like-minded creative who has a great space in a great city. It’s like blogger Air B’nB. We get to travel, connect with someone cool (via their home) and save a bit of money all rolled into one. What can go wrong (in theory)?
So this is me opening up the flood gates.
What should you know about my space and where I live? I live in The 6ix, We The North, also known as Toronto, Canada. I live in a loft that used to be a school in the super unique Kensington Market neighbourhood (#kensingtonmarket on IG) that’s been featured on Apartment Therapy here and here. It’s a GREAT place to stay and explore during the Summer. The ‘hood closes down to cars the last Sunday of the month for Pedestrian Sunday – filled with food, buskers, dancers, art, markets and live music..all commercial free. There’s some awesome food options, and lots of vintage shops to get lost in.
Here’s a few more photos of some of my favourite neighbourhood hang outs to get you even more excited.
I feel like I’m filling out a dating profile except in this case we don’t actually have to spend any time with each other, just cross travel paths. Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Awesome female, with or without serious partner. No tinder dates please.
- Creative or like-minded with a really great space. Ideally we already follow each other on social media or we should be because we’re both so awesome.
- I’m open to locations, near or far.
- Open and free to swap for 1 week (or more if we’re both game) in July-Oct, 2016. We’re each responsible for any travel costs (ie- flights).
If you’re interested or you know someone that would be super interested please fill out this form to get the ball rolling. Thank you in advance for your interest and I promise a response either way :) If you have any questions first, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here we gooooooooooo!
