{SPACES: big style in a small space}

I’m very happy to be showcasing this beautiful space owned by my beautiful friend, Marie-Lou. This space is fit for a magazine – no staging or styling necessary. I guess I would expect no less from someone who buys stylish furniture for a living. This space is a perfect example of how you don’t have to compromise style for space.

It’s full of small pops of colour, interesting accessories & accents, and lots of different textures on a neutral background. The overall feel is very clean, fresh, sophisticated yet cozy.

Marie-Lou’s favourite piece is her marble Italian Saarinen coffee table. It’s a classic forever piece.

The den was turned into a dining area, which gives simple dinners a sense of occasion and a reason to not have the tv on in the background. This room consists almost exclusively of a white & grey palette with beautiful dark wood table & chairs.
The bedroom, although on the small side is incredibly warm & welcoming, especially with the fact it incorporates wooden, stylish bedside tables to make it feel homely. The grey palette is again the backdrop for small pieces of art and collections. I think this alarm clock is my favourite piece. Colourful & vintage…imagine that. I’m also thinking of buying a new rug for the bedroom. It’s looking a little bare at the minute and I think a rug would finish it off beautifully. I’ve found a gorgeous custom made rug at Topteppiche.de, or as they’d say in German ‘Teppich nach mass bei Topteppiche.de‘. I haven’t placed an order yet but it’s definitely on my wish list at the minute.
Taking the tour backwards, we end up in the eclectic front entrance. This chest of drawers was an incredible find at an antique market (jealous), along with the framed vintage map of Marie-Lou’s home province of Quebec. What I love most about this place is her ability to really edit. She has a bunch of stuff, really, but you don’t realize it because it’s organized, displayed perfectly and so carefully chosen.

I know, you’re wondering about that crazy cute purse right? That would be the always colourful & cute katespade. The hallway also acts as a mini art gallery for pieces collected and received over the years.

This space is full to the brim with gorgeous designer pieces. If you like investing in designer pieces, you can get pretty much this exact look with the links below or just be inspired to source your own more affordable pieces to get the same look.
