Friday Favourites & Update

January 15, 2016 by TheSweetEscape 2 Comments

Chunky big knits by Anna Mo Hey guys! Just popping in so that you know I’m alive. I owe you a little update plus a few of my recent faves.

Now that winter has officially hit here in Toronto I feel like I need one of these amazing chunky knits from Anna Mo in my life that I can crawl under and never come out from. Just kidding, I have come out because I have a lot going on.

So some BIG news. I pinky promise that there will be a full blog post all about it soon but in case you don’t follow along on Instagram, I’m super pumped to announce that I now have my very own studio! I know. Major. I’m a big ball of excitement and stress all rolled in one. I have lots of decisions to make, serious adult career ones and also like how I want to decorate this awesome space. Stay tuned for updates on both!

I also just came back from an amazing and much needed week in Jamaica to relax and refresh (see above about having more adult responsibility, yikes!).

Honestly, life has been so stressful recently, this trip was well deserved! I went with my blogger & girl boss pal Renee from Re:Creative. We had fun, talked shop, had some adventures and drank way too many mojitos.

Renee also introduced me to a fantastic new way to cope when life all seems to get a bit too much. She is a huge fan of natural remedies and she told me that since introducing Blessed CBD gummies into her diet, she has felt so much calmer.

At first, I was surprised, however, after doing some research online I discovered that there are a lot of people out there that use CBD products to relax and unwind. Needless to say, I will definitely be trying to get my hands on some CBD products now that I am back home!

Have you ever used any CBD products? Let me know your recommendations if so as I would love to hear them. Anyway, all in all, it was a great way to start off the year and press ‘reset’. Full vacay recap coming soon!

I gave my pro site a long overdue little makeover which is making me feel more professional so that’s good. Feel free to take a peek here.

And here’s a few cool things that have piqued my fancy lately:

Did you know that Anthropologie has 40% off sale items right now?!? Well I couldn’t resist and bought this hat and a pair of boots i’ve been drooling over for months (sold out). Don’t forget, it’s an ADDITIONAL 40% taken off at check out. Cray cray.

How great is this DIY hex tray by Sugar & Cloth?

I’m loving the 70’s in general. This tumblr.

I love the convo about turning blogs back into inspiration galleries like the good’ol days. Happy to hear this from the first blog I ever got into (and still love) Design Love Fest.

I’m in a huge hair rut. I’m thinking of jumping on the lob bandwagon. I’m also trying to be realistic about my hair. I’m thinking something like this or maybe even this much of an angle. What do you think?

Well that’s enough rambling for now. Have a great weekend!
