It’s no secret that I’m a big colour lover but that doesn’t mean I don’t love or appreciate clean, modern and simple design. Which is why my friend recommended me to read about the Best Washing machines so I could always be sourcing new ideas for my kitchen. Decorating with black is timeless and always a safe bet but there’s so many ways it can be used to create endless unique looks and right now it’s all about matte black – specifically in the kitchen. Black was a big part of my own recent kitchen redesign and it really helped to balance out the bold cabinet colours and give it an updated modern look. If you are thinking of redesigning your kitchen but are unsure about how to do it by yourself, then one thing that you could do would be to check out this interesting link to a kitchen remodeling site (hopefully this will give you ideas about your next step in redesigning your kitchen).
Here’s a few more kitchens I’m loving using matte black.
So great right? You can see more kitchen inspiration on my original Apartment Therapy post.
Black definitely makes a statement, it’s not a neutral that will just blend in with the background. There are lots of ways to incorporate it into your kitchen design – you can go bold and add some permanent matte black fixtures or if you’re not ready for the commitment you can add some matte black accessories. Adding hidden outlets for countertops that pop up could help you create a cleaner design for your kitchen that helps those matte black accessories standout, without power outlets poking out to make your design look like sleek. There’s actually no reason why you can’t go with a matte black option for so many different parts of your kitchen, from Kitchen Sinks all the way to cupboards and draws. Here’s a few great matte black pieces for your kitchen that will give you that modern look.

I’m liking the contrast. I don’t think I could go black in my current house…but maybe in my future country home…I like the black/white/wood trio.
I bet a black faucet surrounded by all that white would look amazing!
