Hello Sunshine! A guide for your bright & happy home

Hello Sunshine Summer Home Decor magazine by Leon's FurnitureIt doesn’t feel all that long ago that I was excitedly sharing with you Hello Holiday – an online look book I created for Leon’s Furniture based on my very own Merry Magazine concept.  Well the snow has been replaced with sunshine and here we are with Hello Sunshine It’s a 90 page online guide full of real life Summer decor inspiration from some of your favourite and talented Canadian bloggers

Hello Sunshine Summer Home Decor magazine by Leon's FurnitureThe Hello Yellow Blog Team has evolved slightly and with this issue we’re showing you a little more of real life. Sure, we all look to be inspired but it’s also nice to see homes that not only look great but are lived in and functional. At this time of year, the house can feel far from functional if you don’t have adequate air conditioning or if your unit has broken. If you would learn more about ac repair then it might be worth investigating this further online after you have read more about some of the following summer styles. You’ll see some great spaces, indoors and out, that were pulled together using great pieces from Leon’s with both function and family in mind. Ok, maybe a few chickens and a set of twins too.

Shooting in people’s homes has its challenges as well as rewards. The challenge is…well life. A real home is filled with real life –  including actual walls (unlike a studio), tight spaces, toys, kids, pets, and all that stuff you need to live every day which can be bit tricky to navigate but the bloggers and photographer Maya Visnyei did a great job.

leons bts 1The best part of real life you’ll find in these homes is the people though. We had so much fun at each home meeting the blogger’s families. Although every blogger we visited had memorable moments, the highlight for me was definitely rangling chickens at Bethany of This Little Estate‘s home. Who knew that my job would involve directing (read: chasing) chickens on a photoshoot? This outtake from the shoot posted by Maya pretty much sums it up and below you can see that Autumn pretty much fell in love.
