Ok, so most of the times I absolutely hate Mondays (who doesn’t?) but you know what’s the one thing they are actually really great for? A fresh start. It’s like pressing a mini reset button every week. Most of the time it’s probably more like hitting Replay but still, the fresh start button is there if you want it. Right now, I want it. More like need it. Of course I thought a Monday was a perfect time for a little life & blog update.
First off I should say that nothing is horrible but things just aren’t going quite right if you know what I mean and I think it’s about time I took a left turn. You’re going to notice a bit of a change around here so I wanted to give you a heads up. I’ll still be posting but just not as frequent for a little while. I’m actually still going to be working hard just more behind the scenes. And of course I’ll still be super busy with my contributor roles and pulling together Merry magazine summer issue, which myself and the whole contributing team are pumped to share with you in June.
There’s two main things I’ll be working on – professionally I’m going to be re-thinking and rebranding this blog and working harder to chase some career goals. Personally I’m going to be working on getting healthy. So both my blog and me will be getting makeovers.
The health part is something I’ve put on the back burner for almost 2 years and now, almost 30 lbs later, it’s kinda hard to ignore. Reversing old habits and creating new ones takes a lot of time and energy, well for me anyway, so I need to make it more of a priority. I think I have realistic goals, the main one is to feel good and fit into all the great clothes I have in my closet again.
The blog & career thing has had some awesome highlights so far but I’m not exactly sure I’m on the right path. I think there’s a little bit too much zig zag-ing slowing me down so I’m going focus and prioritize how I can maximize my hustle power.
I won’t go into more detail right now but you can definitely expect some updates as things chug along. And don’t worry (it gives you wrinkles), I still have at least one creative Sweet Escape to share with you every week! But if you’re looking for some more creative goodness to fill the gaps, check out some of the awesome blogs on my blogroll.
Ok, back to regular programming….

I love reading posts like these- too often we put off what we REALLY need to do, to take care of what we think we need to do.
Sounds like you’ve got a good plan! (Sorry- I’ve been totally reading anonymously for awhile- hope this doesn’t sound like it’s coming out of left field!)
I broke my ran this winter and it whipped me right back into the mind frame of taking care of me, defining what that means, and doing that FIRST!
So can’t wait to read about your next projects,
Xo Em

Good luck, girl! I find that when I focus on my health + wellbeing, all the other stuff suddenly becomes clearer and more manageable. And then I always need to remind myself of that when I start to slip back into bad habits….
You’ll rock it!
xoxo
Thanks Gemma! So far, so good. Isn’t it funny how that happens…hmmmm. Maybe these ‘healthy’ people are on to something.
I hear you on all those fronts! Health is on the top of my list, and blog focus is a close second. I need to have about a zillion nmore hours in the day!
I’m thinking more like a zillion and one hours.
I hear ya girl! It can be a struggle to balance everything when you’re a creative and have passion. You’re going to rock it, and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future. You go girl!
