How fun are these?! Now I would’ve never thought that a rice treat recipe would exist that’s just as great for a grown-up party as a kiddos party. The geometric shape and lines make them a stylish and fun sweet for any grown-up bash but the bright colours make them a fun treat for any kid’s party.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED (as per rice treat recipe on cereal box):
• 6 cups rice cereal
• 4 cups mini marshmallows
• 3 tbsp butter
• 4 cups mini marshmallows
• 3 tbsp butter
PLUS
• 1/2-3/4 cup each of desired coloured chocolate ‘coins’ (available at Bulk Barn or Michaels)
• 1/2-3/4 cup each of desired coloured chocolate ‘coins’ (available at Bulk Barn or Michaels)
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add rice cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.

Once you have your rice treat squares you’re ready to have some fun. Melt the chocolate in your microwave for 10 second intervals, removing and stirring in between, until its melted. White base chocolate can be a bit difficult so you definitely don’t want to over melt or reheat so it’s best to do just one colour at a time and work with the chocolate fairly quickly.
You simply use spread the melted chocolate from one corner to the other and the matching sides. Easy peasy! Skip the bottom because it will just make a mess. When you’re done you’ll have a tray full of eye candy that you can actually eat.
