TGIF. Why is it that the shortest weeks feel like the longest? Probably because we cram 5 days worth of work into 4 days. I was just thinking about how gorgeous last long (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend was. I was in my hometown of Guelph for the weekend and decided to take advantage of the stunning weather and head down the street to the Aberfoyle Antique Market. Have you been? I would say it’s definitely one of the best markets in Southern Ontario. Although I have noticed the prices creeping up over the years. I guess it can’t be kept a secret forever. There’s no shortage of amazing vintage pieces and still lots of deals to be had if you keep your eyes open and practice your bargaining skills. The truth is that I really don’t need anything but of course I saw lots of things I wanted. Actually I was pretty disciplined and only walked away with two small pieces but here’s a bunch of interesting things that caught my eye. I’ve been loving antique items recently, using websites like antiquesworld to find new items that I love!
I stop at this table full of crystal chandelier pendents every time I go and always want to buy some but don’t know what I would do with them. Any ideas?
Wouldn’t this sign be perfect for a salon or spa? Or in a bathroom if you have the space.
The shells on the right is actually a hanging light pendant which I thought was really pretty if you’re going for that beachy look.
I was drawn to these vintage pink pieces. I thought they would be a great pop of pink in my new turquoise kitchen. Kinda regret not taking those home.
And this light fixture too….would’ve looked great beside my front door.
This is my dream desk. I love everything about it….except the $800 price tag. Tease. And finally after a beautiful morning at the market with LOTS of temptation I just walked away with these two pieces – a fun mirror and super cool mid-century garbage pail, which I think I may use as a planter.
The Aberfoyle Antique market is open Sunday until October 26th so if you’re in the area or looking for a mini Sunday roadtrip, check it out. Just make sure your trunk is empty and your wallet is full. (psst: there’s an ATM too)

Love this market and haven’t been yet this year!!! I’m a sucker for all the letters and vintage hardware…
You still have 2 weekends, you should go!
