Since I’ve been working from home, I’ve noticed a few benefits. There are the obvious ones, like avoiding the rush hour traffic and saving money on gasoline. But one of the big ones for me is that I have found I’ve got a little bit more time to work on my own stuff, alongside doing my job. If you’re also working from home, hopefully you too will find that you have some time to explore side hustles and ways of making some extra income. Obviously not everybody will need this, but who doesn’t want to boost their normal wage? I have been reading about investing in things like fletcher building shares and how I could keep a close eye on the stock market whilst working from home, meaning it could turn out to be very profitable!
Another thing that I’ve noticed is just how much I listen to music!! I’ve talked about this before, but I’m a huge music nerd. And not the snobby kind. I just REALLY love music. I even went as far as doing research into audio equipment through sites such as hifisystemcomponents.com, just so I could get more of an understanding about music, beyond what I listen to, but more so the technical side of the industry. It is quite interesting and if you are obsessed with music as much as I am, it is definitely worth checking out. The common “what kind of music are you into?” is such a loaded question so I usually just say “the good kind”. That’s not even the truth because I’m into almost* everything, the good, the bad & the ugly. You should see the lists of songs I’ve searched for on Pirate Bay, using proxies of course (click here if you struggle to find access too), it’s an eclectic mix to say the least. If it makes me happy or want to move or chills me out then I like it. The range of what I like is pretty huge. I listen to music pretty much all day and one of my popular go-to sources other than my own playlist is Songza. Are you a fan? I don’t use the suggested playlists much, I like to dig deep and browse.
Here’s what playlists have been on heavy rotation around here lately. I do like some new & popular music, I swear, but you wouldn’t know it by this list. Confession – I love oldies music. Like a lot. I was going to separate these lists into when is a good time to listen to them but it’s not so much about the activity than the mood for me. Sometimes I like to twist’n’shout first thing in the morning and sometimes I’m more in Sunny Patio Vibes mood. *I generally don’t go for sad, depressing, screaming, wordless, synthesized music. Major bonus points if a song has clapping.
What do you like to listen to when you’re working or cutting loose? Feel free to share some of your favourite playlists below, I love sharing music!
