This is a first of hopefully more vintage style posts coming your way. As you may have picked up if you follow along, I have a love for almost all things vintage. I’ve always been drawn to those people with great vintage style and didn’t realize that one day I would have a closet full of vintage. Whether my style is great or not, I’ll leave that opinion up to you. I want to show & share how you can incorporate vintage in your everyday style.
My love of vintage really blossomed once I moved to Kensington Market, with all its awesome vintage shops and super eclectic residents so it made the perfect backdrop for my first vintage style post. I had the pleasure of working again with the talented Maya Visnyei.
My biggest tip to wearing vintage is to have confidence! I remember the first time I wore a vintage dress to a party and I was super self-conscious but slowly as I realized how much I loved the uniqueness & flattering style of the dresses, my confidence grew…and so did my wardrobe. Did I mention how affordable vintage is?
This is one of my favourite dresses, I wear it quite a bit. The design is flattering for all figures and makes me feel all feminine, which is just how you want to feel some days. I really like & encourage mixing old with new but sometimes all vintage is nice too. In this case I’m accessorizing with a vintage saddle purse & belt. The boots are actually new but have a vintage look.
The graphic design nerd in me has to share that this is my favourite sign in the market.
If you think you’re ready to explore wearing vintage, Kensington Market is the place. Stay tuned for some of my favourite vintage store in my next style post. I also happen to love finding & styling vintage for other people. Just ‘sayin……
