I just wanted to add a personal note to this holiday message. The Sweet Escape as you know it hasn’t been around for a full year and it’s been a bit of a learning curve so I didn’t think I was ready for a Year in Review just yet but I wanted to take a minute to reflect and say thanks.

Five months ago (!) I made the big decision to leave a stable, well-paying ‘creative’ job with lots of perks that I’m sure lots of people would love to have because it stopped challenging me, there was no room to grow and deep down I knew that I wasn’t happy and that I had more to give.  I plan on writing a ‘check-in’ for you soon with all the pro’s and con’s and what I’ve learned from the experience in the new year but I just wanted to take a moment to say how thankful I am for all the people that come here and show interest in what I’m doing. I put so much time and effort (and myself) into this blog and it feels amazing to know that people out there are seeing, liking and commenting on my efforts. Thank you!

Also I’m so grateful for all the new people I’ve met through this blogging adventure, both virtually and through my life experiences. This blog has introduced me to a whole new community of like-minded, kind and supportive people which I never anticipated. Even though I spend much of my time working solo I always feel like I have a big support system out there and I’m reminded of this on a daily basis.

To all my readers and to all my new blog friends, thanks for a great year! I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your friends and family and I can’t wait to share more with you in 2014.
